Henry Krieger (Composer)
was born in N.Y.C. and educated at The American University and at Columbia University. Before deciding to compose full-time, Henry performed in night clubs in New York and out-of-town with his group the original Cakewalk. Since then he has scored numerous off and off-off-Broadway productions, as well as films for television and has been the recipient of the ASCAP Popular Award for the last consecutive five years. Dream Girls
marks his first Broadway score, though not his first contribution to a Broadway show, as he created the musical interludes for Same Time, Next Year.
Soon after, he crossed paths with Tom Eyen and began the collaboration which has resulted in Dream Girls.
On Broadway, Krieger has been represented by The Tap Dance Kid and the recent Side Show. He has also penned Everything's Ducky and Kept with Billy Russell. He is collaborating with Susan Birkenhead on the upcoming television musical Sleeping Beauty and on the stage version of the film Moonstruck.
