Vondie Curtis-Hall (Curtis Taylor Jr. / Marty / Understudy (Mr. Harney)) was seen last season on Broadway as The Fly opposite Lena Horne in Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, and appeared in It's So Nice To Be Civilized. Mr. Curtis-Hall has been with Dream Girls since its inception. He has appeared in productions of The Wiz, Two Gentlemen Of Verona, The Dutchman and The Fabulous Miss Marie. He sang with the Michigan Opera Theatre, recording "A Brand New Me" with the group, and toured as a solo artist throughout the U.S. and Canada. He has co-hosted television's "The Daedal Doors" for two years, and performed on PBS' "The Improvisational Theatre Hour" for more than a year.

Since DREAMGIRLS:
After the failure of the Broadway musical revue Stardust in 1987 (in which he was an understudy), Vondie has been active and visible in film and television, acting, directing and even writing. His most high-profile directing job was Mariah Carey's screen debut in Glitter.
