Cleavant Derricks (James Thunder Early / James Thunder Early / Vocal Arranger) was most recently seen as the Preacher in the 1980 production of Your Arm's Too Short To Box With God. He appeared on Broadway in But Never Jam Today, I Have A Dream, the recent revival of Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar. Mr. Derricks also appeared in the films Hair, Nashville and Fort Apache, the Bronx. On television he has been featured in the movie "Ambush Murders," a television special, "Cindy," as a featured soloist in "Gospel Music," as soloist and songwriter for NBC's Weekend Special and a regular on "700 Club." He has appeared in concert with Nina Simone, Diahann Carroll, the Southern Gospel Convention and at the Grand Ole Oprey House. He was the composer and musical director of PBS' "When Hell Freezes Over I'll Skate In" and WOR-TV's special "Unemployment." He is a twin to Clinton-Derricks. Carroll, also of show business.

Cleavant appeared in Bob Fosse's Big Deal in 1986. He was a regular cast member on the television series "Sliders."
